SHOUT Canada: Reflections on Rwanda Summer Program
The Reflections on Rwanda (“RoR”) program will provide 10-15 Canadian students and young professionals with the opportunity to visit the Republic of Rwanda in June 2023, become witnesses to the country’s history and gain exposure to the factors that made the occurrence of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsis possible. The program, which will last a total of 12-14 days, will focus not only on the country’s troubled past, but will also deal with the country’s current state and prospects for the future.
Participating students will become agents of Rwanda’s lessons as they travel across the country visiting sites and listening to the stories of survivors and rescuers alike. Students will become ambassadors for Rwanda and its people, and in so doing will return to Canada with not only the courage but also the first-hand knowledge to affect change.
